Canada’s Farmers Grow Communities Launches
- Canada’s Farmers Grow Communities Program now taking applications
- Sixty-six, $2,500 grants available
- Over $1.6 million invested into rural Canada since 2012
Calgary, AB. – May 4, 2022 – By spending only five minutes online, charities and community programs or events could win one of 66, $2,500 grants.
First introduced in 2012, the Canada’s Farmers Grow Communities Program continues to help strengthen rural communities by equipping local, non-profit organizations with funds to carry out much-needed community work. The aim is for farmers to help improve the lives of many people living in rural communities by nominating those in need.
“Farmers and rural communities are the focus of our business, and we want to see them remain strong,” said Trish Jordan, senior business partner, government and industry affairs with Bayer’s Crop Science division. “This program helps boost the incredible work being done in these critical communities. They’re the fabric of Canada and we want to do our part to help them thrive.”
Canadian farmers are encouraged to apply on behalf of agricultural societies, 4-H clubs, playgrounds, daycares, school projects, community sporting organizations, libraries, health/service groups and more.
However, the program isn’t just for farmers. Any local charity can participate by suggesting a charity for farmers to consider in their application. If the charity’s focus will enhance the lives of rural residents and help grow the community, they qualify.
Participation is simple. First, visit www.CanadasFarmers.ca. If you’re a farmer, then complete a Farmer Application to nominate a charitable cause or not-for-profit in your community. If you’re not a farmer, simply use the “Charity Suggestion” option. Applicants can apply any day up to and including September 30. Winners will be announced this fall.
