Tree Fruit

Each season, tree fruit receive many applications of fungicides and insecticides resulting in an increasing concern for growers: resistance. Take for example apple leaf scab. Once effectively managed by Group 11 fungicides, it is now becoming harder to control due to its growing resistance. The good news from the orchard is that new products are available to help growers protect the yield and quality of this $262 million industry (2009 Agriculture Canada statistic). With the development of new multiple mode of action products along with tweaking existing products’ molecular structure, growers have more options available to help keep their crops healthy all season long.
