Bayer expands herbicide lineup again with Corvus™ to deliver solid season-long broadleaf and grass control to corn growers

Calgary, AB (January 18, 2022) – Today the Crop Science division of Bayer announced that CorvusTM herbicide is now commercially available for growers in Eastern Canada. Corvus offers outstanding season-long control of a broad spectrum of broadleaf and grass weeds including glyphosate-resistant weeds in field corn and seed corn.

Corvus delivers three levels of defense to fight weeds: rapid burndown for early weeds, residual control to prevent newly emerging weeds, and reactivation with rain for prolonged weed management. It combines two trusted modes of action – Group 2 and Group 27 – to eliminate a broad spectrum of weeds, and can be applied pre-emerge, pre-plant incorporated or early post-emerge (2-leaf) to maximize usability.

“With Corvus, farmers have flexibility in application timing and tank mix options, allowing for application at the time they want, the way they want while precisely targeting the weeds they need to control,” says Kate Hyatt, Crop and Campaign Manager, Corn at Bayer. “With tank-mix flexibility, Corvus provides a comprehensive solution to an integrated weed management strategy. It works well in combination with Roundup® branded herbicides as well as atrazine, helping farmers achieve season-long weed control and maximizing yield potential at harvest.”

Testing with Corvus has been conducted on Eastern Canadian farms for results under local conditions, and is backed by 10 years of proven performance in the US corn market. In Eastern Canada research trials, Corvus tank mixed with atrazine provided 91% control of a broad spectrum of tough broadleaf and grassy weeds 28 days after application.1

“We’ve been working hard testing and trialing new products to enhance our existing corn portfolio and are thrilled to add Corvus to our crop protection offering. Alongside other new additions like Laudis® herbicide and Delaro® Complete fungicide, we are bringing new products to the table to address the needs of Canadian farmers,” says Hyatt. “When combined with high-performing DEKALB hybrids and the power of Climate FieldView, farmers have a complete crop solution for corn that helps to solve issues and maximize yield potential.”

Corvus is available in Eastern Canada for the 2022 growing season. Growers are encouraged to talk to their local Bayer representative to learn more, or visit CropScience.Bayer.ca.
